‘Looking for the Perfect Beat’ displays the work of three artists: Robbie Dixon, Leilani Turner and Nathan Barnett. It is a multifaceted array of appreciations concerning the musical juggernaut that is Hip-Hop. The aim of the work goes beyond fandom and simple pleasure to draw relationships between contemporary art practice and a musical form often relegated to flippant consumption.
